Wayfair.com Reports Record Cyber Monday Sales, Up 50% for Biggest Revenue Day in Company History Home Goods Retailer Reports $25 Million in Sales from Holiday Weekend
BOSTON, Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wayfair.com, the largest online retailer of home furnishings and decor, reported record Cyber Monday sales that surpassed $9 million, a 50 percent increase in year over year growth. The company saw $25 million in sales over the long holiday weekend from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday, a 56 percent increase over last year. The company sold one item every 1.3 seconds on Cyber Monday.
Sales from smart phones and tablets played a key role in Wayfair.com's success throughout the weekend with mobile sales on Black Friday up three fold over last year. In total, mobile sales made up 30 percent of orders throughout the Thanksgiving weekend for the home furnishings retailer. Wayfair's flash sales business Joss & Main contributed to that growth with a 137 percent increase in mobile sales year over year for the long holiday weekend.
