WellCare Names Warner State President, South Carolina

TAMPA, Fla., July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) announced today that it has named Kathy Warner state president, South Carolina, effective July 26, 2015. She has responsibility for WellCare's Medicaid and Medicare Advantage businesses across the state and will lead the company's statewide quality and growth initiatives. Warner has served as the company's chief operating officer for South Carolina since March 2013. She will continue to report to Roman Kulich, WellCare's region president for Georgia and South Carolina.

Warner has more than 28 years of health care experience and has served in various health care executive roles. Prior to being WellCare of South Carolina's COO, she was WellCare's vice president of field network management for Georgia. She also served as market COO for central and southwest Georgia. Before joining WellCare in 2006, she served in several leadership roles for Columbus Regional Healthcare System, including CFO and director of managed care contracting from 1995 to 2005.  

As of March 31, 2015, WellCare serves approximately 67,000 Medicaid members and 31,000 Medicare members in South Carolina.
