WWDMAGIC Partners with Teen Vogue and fashion bloggers and writers to Launch A New Destination on Show Floor - A Showcase of the Hottest Tastes and Trends That Inspire Teens, Tweens and Young Women

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, MAGIC announces the launch of a new interactive destination at the core of its WWDMAGIC show, providing a real-time look at the trends and styles shaping teens, tweens and young women.  Like their lives, it represents a convergence of fashion, music, social media, art, style and technology. The Teen Vogue Blogger Lounge, located on the main Concourse of the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature 30 emerging and celebrity fashion bloggers and writers from around the world reporting live from the WWDMAGIC show floor. These bloggers will provide trend reports, generate real-time video segments, participate in buyer chats and style-offs and much more.

Four top-tier junior and young contemporary brands will anchor the area – Levi's, Jessica Simpson, French Connection and Free People.  WWDMAGIC has also partnered with L'Oreal Paris to create a Beauty Bar, and with San Francisco-based companies Moxsie.com and Whrrl.com that will serve as technology partners to provide additional activities for bloggers and show attendees.

"If you want to know what young women want, and how it will drive their fashion choices for next season, come and listen," says Chris DeMoulin, MAGIC International President and Executive Vice President of Advanstar's Fashion Group. "Social media, fashion, music, art and technology all blend seamlessly in the lives of young women, and with partners like Teen Vogue, L'Oreal and the hippest teen bloggers around – we know that if it matters to young women, it will come to life this February on the floor of WWDMAGIC."

Specifically, the concourse will include:

Teen Vogue Blogger Lounge:

WWDMAGIC has partnered with Teen Vogue, a leading media authority in teen fashion, to create a vibrant hub that will be teaming with bloggers and activity, and serve as the focal point of the concourse.  30 fashion writers and bloggers, led by Jane Aldridge (Sea Of Shoes), Erica Domesek (PSIMADETHIS), Jennifer Margolin (RedSoleDiary), Rebecca Lay and Renee Ogaki (Styluste) and Colby Jordan (Minnie Muse), will participate in discussion panels, provide trend reports, generate real-time video segments and participate in photo style-offs, creating a comprehensive showcase of events happening at the show.

"Teen Vogue has long championed the notion of the importance of personal style," says Sabine Feldmann, VP/Publisher of Teen Vogue. "And in this new age of social media, the individual is more in control than ever. That's why we are thrilled to be hosting the first-ever Blogger Concourse Lounge at WWDMAGIC.  It's also the ideal platform for us to promote the launch of Fashion Click (fashion.teenvogue.com) on TeenVogue.com – a personal style blogger network that offers the best looks from our favorite blogs... all in one place."

Bloggers and writers will also compete for a host of prizes as well as the role of the official WWDMAGIC correspondent at the August 2011 show. Daily blogger coverage will also be aggregated at www.WWDMagic.tumblr.com.

L'OREAL Beauty Bar

L'OREAL PARIS will showcase teen trends in make-up, offer free makeovers and debut a new foundation, aptly called "Magic Smooth Souffle."

Whrrl.com

Throughout the WWDMAGIC show, bloggers and attendees will check-in using Whrrl (http://Whrrl.com), a leading geo-location service. Check-ins, photos and "Whrrl Stories" will be aggregated in a custom branded WWDMAGIC Fashion Society on Whrrl.com. Show attendees will see all of the bloggers' activities as they report from the show aggregated on TV screens mounted in the Teen Vogue lounge and on The Concourse. Additionally, bloggers and show attendees who use Whrrl will receive exclusive, members-only check-in deals from restaurants, clubs, retail and entertainment properties throughout Vegas. Bloggers and show attendees who check-in on The Concourse will also have a chance to win prizes from WWDMAGIC show brands.

Moxsie.com

As part of the interactive installations on the WWDMAGIC concourse, community-driven crowdsourcing online shop Moxsie (http://moxsie.com) will host their wildly popular BuyerChat series on Twitter live from WWDMAGIC show floor. BuyerChat is a new marketing strategy for the online retailer that combines social gaming with social engagement activities via twitter. Bloggers and show attendees participating in BuyerChat vote on and discuss the apparel that Moxsie will sell online following the show. Participants earn virtual badges for their participation.

iPad Art Wall

A custom designed iPad art wall will open the Concourse installation.  With a DJ in front, the wall will feature mounted iPads surrounded by a carefully curated collection of mixed media art, with the graphics on the iPads synced with the sounds.  The DJ will spin brand sets – playlists inspired by the four anchor brands on The Concourse - Levis, French Connection, Jessica Simpson and Free People.
