Winners Announced in the 2010 MirrorMate® Bathroom Mirror Makeover Contest

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- MirrorMate® announces today the winners of the 2010 "Rate My MirrorMate Makeover" contest where both homeowners and designers competed this summer by entering their bathroom mirror makeovers using MirrorMate frames.  The winning makeovers are:

• 1st Place (consumer):  Ann and Tom Cychosz, Southlake, TX
• 1st Place (professional):  Brenda Spencer of Spencer Staging & ReDesign, Austin, TX  
• 2nd Place:  Diana Lougnot, Glendale, AZ
• 3rd Place:  Sheila Metzler, Webster, NY

The two Grand Prize winners will receive $500 and their makeovers displayed on the homepage of www.mirrormate.com.  Second place receives $250 and third place receives a $100.

About the Consumer Grand Prize Winner

For the consumer competition, husband and wife team Ann and Tom Cychosz of Southlake, TX took 1st place for their do-it-yourself bathroom remodel, which included a mirror makeover using MirrorMate frames in Tribeca Burnished Brown.  While Tom is a Technical Support Manager and Ann is a Medical Laboratory Tech in their full time jobs, for this all-out bathroom makeover the two also took on the tasks of electricians, plumbers, wall paper removers, painters, lighting experts, cabinet strainers and tile layers.  

"Our advice to any do it yourselfers is research, plan and source your supplies prior to starting the project," said Ann Cychosz.  "MirrorMate was just the solution for the old mirrors."

Professional Winner

In the professional category, Home Stylist Brenda Spencer of Spencer Staging & ReDesign in Austin, TX took 1st place for her client's mirror makeover, also using a MirrorMate frame Tribeca Burnished Brown.  

"The frame compliments the oiled bronze finishes and rich tones of the granite counter top," said Brenda.  "The frame was also the inspiration for the new finish on the cabinets."

About the "Rate My MirrorMate Makeover" Contest

From May 15, 2010 through August 15, 2010, MirrorMate customers had the opportunity to upload their before and after images of room makeovers using MirrorMate frames.  They invited friends and family to vote for their favorite makeover.  The top 10 fan-ranked makeovers were then used by MirrorMate to select the 1st place retail and wholesale makeovers, as well as the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
