Winston & Strawn's Robert Pringle Named Antitrust Lawyer of the Year by California State Bar Section

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce that Robert Pringle was named the 2010 Antitrust Lawyer of the Year by the California State Bar Antitrust & Unfair Competition Section.  A partner in the firm's San Francisco office, Pringle was selected by the section's Executive Committee and will be honored at a gala dinner in October following the annual Golden State Institute, a series of antitrust and unfair competition seminars presented by the Section.

Each year since 1991, the Section has presented the Antitrust Lawyer of the Year award to the antitrust lawyer the Executive Committee believes is among the most prominent, respected and successful attorneys in terms of impact on the profession, and one who exemplifies the highest standards of collegiality, professionalism and commitment to the practice.  The Executive Committee is composed of plaintiffs' lawyers, defense lawyers, in-house counsel and lawyers from the federal, state and local antitrust enforcement agencies.

Pringle focuses his practice on antitrust and complex commercial litigation.  Representing clients on a range of antitrust matters in state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals, he is particularly experienced in handling cartel cases, civil class actions and criminal grand jury matters, contested mergers, tying  and monopolization cases.  He also has been involved in unfair competition, securities, trade secrets and other intellectual property claims, contract disputes, fraud and RICO claims.  In addition, Pringle provides counseling and serves as special litigation counsel to corporate boards of directors, many of which are Fortune 200 and 500 companies in the United States and abroad.

Pringle has been named in Chambers USA's Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in the United States, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and San Francisco Magazine's Super Lawyer list.  In addition to being a member of the State Bar of California's Antitrust & Unfair Competition Section, Pringle is a member of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law.  He is also a council member of the ABA's Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law and the Litigation Section and serves as chair of the Antitrust Committee.  Pringle is a lifetime member of the Board of Visitors of Duke University Law School.

Pringle received his juris doctor from Duke University School of Law and his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
