Parenting And Child Development Expert Denise Daniels Develops New Groundbreaking Emotional Intelligence Brand, The Moodsters™
FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND EQ BRAND FOR PRESCHOOLERS BASED ON CURRICULUM FROM THE YALE CENTER FOR EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
NEW YORK, Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning child development and parenting expert Denise Daniels, Founder of Jelly Jam Entertainment, worked with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence to create a curriculum exclusively for The Moodsters, a new children's brand designed to help kids learn how to understand and manage their emotions. The Moodsters, featuring five lovable characters, each depicting a different emotion teaches simple strategies to build emotional intelligence skills. This groundbreaking property is slated to launch in late 2015 and will include apps, books, toys, digital content and more.
Based on the emotional intelligence curriculum developed for preschoolers in partnership with Marc Brackett, PhD and Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, The Moodsters (Coz, Lolly, Snorf, Razzy and Quigly) use detective skills to solve emotional mysteries. Children learn through the adventures of the characters how to handle challenges and opportunities that they face in their everyday lives. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is defined as the ability to identify and manage one's own feelings and emotions, as well as in others. Decades of scientific research has shown that children with EQ skills excel in developing more positive, enriched relationships, social competence, academic success, physical and psychological health and well-being.
"With the use of engaging characters and entertaining adventure stories," noted Denise Daniels, "The Moodsters prepares children for success in the real world by giving them tools and simple strategies they can use to manage their thoughts, feelings and behavior. For parents, The Moodsters are learning tools which help teach children the fundamentals of feelings."
Jelly Jam Entertainment's Executive Vice President of Brand and Business Development, Maureen Taxter (formerly of Nickelodeon and Ludorum) commented, "The Moodsters make learning about feelings fun. We are currently pursuing partnerships with media and licensing partners to help bring The Moodsters to preschoolers everywhere."
