10th Anniversary Of Share Our Strength's Bake Sale For No Kid Hungry Enlists Home Bakers To End Childhood Hunger In America
Spring Forward with Your Best Dessert Recipes and Bake a Difference
WASHINGTON, March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Share Our Strength® kicks off the 10th anniversary of its Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry™ to help end childhood hunger in America. As a bid to raise major funding to help eradicate an issue that need not exist in America, the national nonprofit is encouraging people of all ages to host bake sales in their local communities. The goal for 2013 is to raise $600,000, which can help connect children in need with up to 6 million meals. Participants can sign up at Bake.NoKidHungry.org.
The program is presented by Domino® Sugar, C&H® Sugar and Duncan Hines®. Since 2003, more than 1.4 million people have participated in Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry and have raised more than $9 million. All funds raised will help support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry® campaign, which is ending childhood hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day.

For those rising to the bake sale challenge, the online Bakers' Resources provides tools and tips to make events successful and fun. Bakers will find planning checklists, templates for flyers, location and pricing advice, photography tips, how to host a virtual bake sale tips and more.
Bake Sale participants will be rewarded for completing their bake sales with a variety of gifts on a monthly basis. For bake sales raising between $250 - $1,000+, bakers will receive select items from Kmart's Sandra by Sandra Lee collection, ranging from silicone oven mitts to ceramic ramekins to a travel cake keeper.

Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry will also enlist bloggers for the fourth annual National Food Blogger Bake Sale. The virtual-meets-reality event, to be held on Saturday, May 4, will unite food bloggers from across the country to host bake sales in their communities and encourage their followers to host their own virtual bake sales.
