120 Sports adds depth to talent roster with new analysts, co-host
Antoine Walker, Danny Graves, Steve Phillips and Rick Strom join 120 Sports talent team
CHICAGO and NEW YORK, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Set to debut live tomorrow at 6 p.m. ET, 120 Sports, a first-of-its-kind network partnership involving multiple leagues and media properties, announced today an expanded team of accomplished analysts and a co-host that will be added to its current talent line-up. The new network, which will provide insight on all angles of all sports, carefully selected this skilled co-host and these three sport-specific analysts to contribute expertise and further drive the sports conversation.
"As we work to offer even more original, diverse and all-encompassing sports programming to our audience, this new co-host and group of analysts will serve as an excellent complement to our already strong roster of talent," said Jason Coyle, president of 120 Sports.
Joining the 120 Sports team, as an analyst, is three-time All-Star and former NBA standout Antoine Walker. Walker will bring his wealth of basketball knowledge and on the court experience, serving as 120 Sports' resident basketball analyst. Walker, drafted 6th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, won both a NCAA Men's Division I Basketball (Kentucky Wildcats-1996) and NBA Championship (Miami Heat-2006) during his stellar career that also included an NBA All-Rookie Team selection in 1997.
Danny Graves and Steve Phillips will accompany Walker as analysts, serving as 120 Sports baseball experts. Graves is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who excelled with both the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds earning two All-Star selections with the Reds. At the age of 22, Graves debuted with the Cleveland Indians in 1996 and after being traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1997, starred as the team's saves leader four out of five years from 1999-2004. Phillips worked in the New York Mets' front office for 13 years serving as the team's Senior Vice President/General Manager from 1997-2003. After leaving the Mets, Phillips joined ESPN as a baseball analyst from 2005 to 2009. Currently, Phillips is a host on "Evan and Phillips" on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio Channel and also serves as a baseball insider on Canadian sports network TSN. Both Graves and Phillips will provide seasoned baseball insight, on and off the field wisdom and sophisticated analysis to the 120 Sports team.
In addition, 120 Sports has signed on its next co-host in Rick Strom, former sports host of The Young Turks Sports Network, a digital only video network hosted via YouTube and noted by many as the world's largest online news show. Strom's familiarity with and natural ability for hosting native digital sports content makes him a perfect addition to the 120 Sports team.
