SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 123.Net, a Michigan based telecommunications company, today announced that it will be celebrating the opening of its newly remodeled Grand Rapids data center with an exclusive event on Wednesday, April 24 beginning at 3 p.m. at the facility. The event will include tours of the newly remodeled data center, and a reception for guests.
The newly remodeled facility, located at 400 76th Street in Byron Center, Michigan, has approximately 3500 square feet of data center space and more than 150 cabinets. The $500,000 upgrade includes a hot/cold aisle design with redundant power and HVAC systems, security monitoring systems, direct connectivity to 123.Net's facilities in Southfield, MI, along with additional amenities including office area with available conference space. The project began in June 2012 and will be completed ahead of the April event.
Demand for data center and colocation services is growing across Michigan due to the adoption of managed cloud services, the necessity for off-site redundancy and security, and the expansion of network providers and digital media companies. 123.Net's four SSAE-16 audited facilities in Michigan offers Michigan companies the opportunity to collocate in world-class data centers without having to go out of the state for redundancy.
