2011 ChemOutsourcing Record Attendance Marks 5th Year of Uninterrupted Growth of Annual Pharmaceutical Ingredients Show
LONG BRANCH, N.J., Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ChemOutsourcing today announced that this year's show has already eclipsed last year's attendance marking the 5th straight year of growth, reported Mark Alexay, its President. The annual chemistry and pharmaceutical ingredients show has emerged as an important business gathering of executives from Contract Research and Manufacturing organizations.
This year's show will take place September 12-15 , 2011 at Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ.
"Part of this year's growth is attributable to the larger pharmaceutical companies investing offshore to lower costs," remarked Alexay. "This has resulted in a growth spike in outsourcing. The industry supply chain has become increasingly globalized and the show is a good place for suppliers and their clients to meet. It also serves primarily the lucrative US market where everyone wants to be."
About 1000 attendees, 110 exhibitors, and 150 speakers attend ChemOutsourcing. Larger companies like Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck, and Eli Lilly attend the show, and increasingly, small molecule biotech "emerging" pharmaceutical company chemists. Alexay continued, "ChemOutsourcing started out as an API and intermediates show in 2007. Since then the show has evolved to include related areas like drug discovery, analytical development, laboratory equipment, and a variety of other pharmaceutical and chemical services. It's a long and convoluted food chain. And with new therapeutics now more difficult to discover and commercialize, everybody is looking for productive partnerships. So the industry has extended itself around the world and the show has grown with it."

Alexay concluded by remarking, "Our ultimate goal is to attract chemists from every emerging and medium-sized pharmaceutical company in the world – we have all witnessed their tremendous accomplishments in drug discovery and development over the past 10-12 years – and they in turn will attract the investors whose capital is so vital for their, and the industry's, future."
