23rd Annual Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure 5K Winners Announced

PITTSBURGH, May 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This year's Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure® attracted more than 23,000 participants, including approximately 2,000 breast cancer survivors. The winners of today's Komen Pittsburgh Race for the Cure 5K are as follows:

1^st Place Overall Winners

2^nd Place Overall Winners
Male: Kevin Beganics; 17:31
Female: Morgan Ansell; 19:54

3^rd Place Overall Winners

Survivor Category Winners
1^st Place Survivor: Lori Dunlap; 22:27
2^nd Place Survivor: Amy Stiles; 24:44
3^rd Place Survivor: Pamela Semian; 25:33

Male Survivor: John Pitzulo; 32:38
Champion Survivor (age 44 and younger): Amber Aughenbaugh; 26:03
Master Survivor (age 45-64): Laura Dawson; 25:58
Senior Survivor (age 65+): Virginia Foreman; 1:02:52

5K Race Prizes
First Place Finishers Male/Female:  Winners received an American Airlines points certificate.

Additional prizes donated by Giant Eagle and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 5K run began at 8:35 a.m. Runners started at Schenley Drive, traveled to Forbes Avenue and ran through Squirrel Hill via Northumberland and Wightman, then down Bartlett to Westinghouse Memorial Pond, ending at Phipps Conservatory.

The 5K race is sanctioned and certified by US Track & Field. A complete list of results is available at www.runhigh.com. A list of winners and prizes will be available at www.komenpittsburgh.org after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11.
