28th Annual NAGPS National Conference
COLUMBIA, Mo., Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On November 6th -9th graduate and professional students from across the nation will gather and convene the 28th Annual National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) National Conference in Columbia, MO. The University of Missouri's Graduate Professional Conference (GPC) and Missouri Science and Technology are the co-hosts for this year's conference.
NAGPS anticipates representatives from more than 90 NAGPS member institutions. The conference will be an opportunity for graduate student governments to share practices that aid students and affect campus policies. This year's theme "Advocacy for Today's Innovators, Tomorrow's Leaders" will provide students with informative sessions and discussions to support advocacy efforts of student leaders and organizers.
It will also highlight various national, regional, and institutional campaigns and policy issues that affect graduate students, such as the GradsHaveDebt2 campaign that started at the University of Missouri, Campaign for Advocacy and Transparency at Syracuse University, and many others.
NAGPS Annual Business Meeting will also convene sessions to discuss its non-profit efforts and business, as well as elect a new national board.
