As Xenakis noted, adding one tiny button to an E-commerce site can lead to a dramatic boost in income. Specifically, as the conversion case study noted, placing a Call to Action on thousands of pages is all that is needed to earn a huge amount of revenue; this Call to Action will help to keep potential buyers on the E-commerce site for longer.
"I have been offering consulting services to a well-established E-commerce in Switzerland. I have convinced the people in charge to carry out a small change on many pages," Xenakis noted, adding that for a variety of reasons, the UX and onsite SEO of this particular E-commerce could not be optimized.
"Technically, this e-commerce has many small issues such as lack of tags, and it lacked original texts."
Even though there were problems with the E-commerce, Xenakis said it did have a couple of things going for it: it belongs to a large and well-known company, the site has powerful backlinks and a very strong brand.
In the 63-day period (compared to the previous year) that the E-commerce site added the Call to Action button, Xenakis said their revenue grew by 11.34 percent, the E-commerce conversion rate grew over 31 percent and transactions went up by 16 percent.
"Should this E-commerce keep up the pace, it will generate approximately $2.5 million in extra revenue by the year's end."
