36 Winners of Best Road Trip Outings Announced at the Highly Anticipated 2015 China Road Trip Festival
SHANGHAI, April 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2015 China Road Trip Festival, which was held on March 6th, recognized the 36 top-voted travel itineraries, in addition to hosting several key speakers and showcasing many other unique services and companies who strive to pave the way in tourism service integration.
"Engage, Share and Achieve" -- this was the motto of the 2015 China Road Trip Festival, where industry leaders, service providers and thought leaders came together at the Shanghai Fashion Center to celebrate innovation and share best practices in the rapidly evolving tourism industry.
According to Jean Chen, Chief Marketing Officer of iDriver Media Co., which hosted the event, "In recent years, over 300 million Chinese people made 1.9 billion road trips on an annual basis, which provides a significant revenue boost to local and regional economies. The market size is estimated to have reached one trillion RMB and continues to grow every year."
iDriver Media aims to integrate all auto, after-market and tourism resources and business opportunities that encapsulate the desires of China's new travelers. The company positions itself well as a catalyst to convene all the service players in the "on the road" customer segment: from auto services to accommodation, further to tourism e-commerce, entertainment, social media and new marketing vehicles, and financial services.
"Aside from safe and secure travel, most road trip participants now include 'uniqueness of itinerary' and 'adventure' in their desires," said Chen. To that end, iDriver Media hosted the annual voting for China Road Trip Routes to seek and refine the 36 top-voted itineraries in China. The itineraries highlighted the spirit of adventure on the road.
The 2015 China Road Trip Festival is a chance to not only recognize and reward those who have contributed highly engaging and unique travel itineraries that are accessible for public viewership within the iDriver Media community, but to also showcase exciting new technologies, services, and businesses that all strive to build upon this new exciting and high-grossing industry.
Mr. Chen envisions that the annual award ceremony will become the "Oscars Award Ceremony" of the tourism industry. As the publicity grows, it will be able to showcase new trends, practices and achievements related to the road trip business to an even wider audience.
One major milestone the 2015 China Road Trip Festival has achieved is that March 6th, "Road Trip Day," is now widely recognized and supported by industry leaders and travelers alike. Cache Lee, Chief Executive Officer of iDriver Media, initiated the establishment of Road Trip Day on March 6th to promote the road trip industry ecosystem in China.
Dai Bin, Dean of the Research Institute of China Tourism Affairs, said in his keynote speech that the Road Trip Day celebration is perfectly aligned with the "deep-rooted quest for freedom" and spiritual satisfaction orientation among Chinese people. He further pointed out that it will help trigger more innovation in business, technology, products and institutions.
Among the beneficiaries of such innovations is the regional economy and the tourism industry. Duan Yueqing, Director of the Yunnan Province Tourism Development Committee, championed support for the birth of Road Trip Day, saying, "It helps us upgrade our tourism industry by attracting more road trippers into Yunnan."
Uber, eHi Car Services, Shanghai International Automobile City, Youku.com, Lvmama.com, Qyer.com, International Channel Shanghai and other industry players offered their insights into the service sharing economy and shed light on their practices in road trip-related businesses in China.
Participants of the whole-day, fully-subscribed event were also able to browse and interact with exhibits displaying cutting edge virtual-reality technologies, concept cars, and award-winning mobile technologies. Some big names from the auto industry -- BMW, Jeep, and Harley-Davidson -- were featured.
The China Road Trip Festival has become a flagship event of iDriver Media and all its associates in the road trip and the tourism industries. Its cross-sector collaboration nature creates a streamlined iDriver Media Platform that is dedicated to providing the ultimate customized vacation adventure.
