CHICAGO, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- 5 gum announced today that it will for the second consecutive year bring music lovers across America the ultimate viewing experience via the Coachella Live Webcast.  This year viewers can enjoy the webcast on YouTube.com/Coachella and interact with personalized sensory experiments on 5GumCoachella.com.

As a second year, exclusive webcast provider for the Coachella music festival, 5 gum is allowing music fans to experience Coachella directly from their personal computer with three channels of content, ranging from concert performances to artist interviews and other behind-the-scenes footage, beginning at 4pm PT on April 15. Featured artists of the 2011 live YouTube webcast include Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Duran Duran, Mumford & Sons, The National, The Black Keys, Wiz Khalifa, Chromeo and dozens of others.

For the first time this year, users can personalize their Live Coachella Webcast by visiting 5GumCoachella.com, which was launched on March 7 to celebrate the release of their two latest varieties — Prism™, an electric watermelon flavor, and Vortex™, a juicy green apple flavor. By participating in the five sensory experiments housed on 5GumCoachella.com, users can enter shout-outs which will be streamed to their Facebook friends during the Coachella viewing event on YouTube.com/Coachella.

The live webcast will take place on April 15, 16 and 17.  Beginning April 18 and continuing through May 15, fans can visit YouTube.com/Coachella to watch archived performances and exclusive highlights from Coachella.

Those lucky enough to attend the festival in-person can participate in the 5 Gum Sensory Terminal. The Sensory Terminal will offer a range of interactive and immersive art and music activities, including:

  • Personalized digital graffiti creations that can be shared with social networks from Coachella
  • Video art which features custom avatar development and utilizes body-recognition technology, also uploaded in real-time
  • Live webcast of the Coachella performances broadcast in an air conditioned tent
  • Free samples of delicious new flavors Prism and Vortex

Beginning Friday, April 15, before the festival begins, Coachella fans can see real-time updates about the live webcast, including artist lineups and show times at YouTube.com/Coachella.
