5th Generation Cancer Book Released by Comedian Lisa Marie
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lisa Marie Wilson, best selling author, comedian, and cancer survivor, released her book, "Traveling Daisy: A Generational Cancer Story of Disease and Dysfunction" that looks deep into her life that started in a trailer park and questions, "Did my chaotic life cause my cancer?" It's a #1 Best Seller in Cancer books after just two days on Amazon. The ebook is 99 cents and all proceeds benefit cancer research. Her goal is to help people survive cancer.
Lisa Marie offers tips and advice on how to deal with your own cancer or someone else's cancer, as she is the fifth generation of her family to be diagnosed with the disease. Her great-great grandma had breast, her great-grandpa had colon, her grandma had breast, her mom had melanoma and she had thyroid. She tells her journey of how she dealt with both terminal and treatable cancer diagnoses, as she took care of her mother while she died from melanoma, just a year before she, herself, was diagnosed.
This isn't the first time she has looked at her family tree to find answers. She produced a documentary about her brother called, "My Careless Brother's Vasectomy," where she promotes vasectomies to men who abandon their children. In her latest attempt to put the fun back in dysfunctional, she writes her very real, funny and honest travels through life and cancer all with a smile and a laugh. She honestly believes that to get through the cancer times, that laughter is better than a xanax.
