80% of Marketers Need More Profitable New Customers
New Survey Finds Better Qualifying Prospects is a Top Priority in 2013
SOUTHPORT, Conn., April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Acquiring more profitable new customers is a top priority for nearly 80% of U.S. Business to Consumer marketers, while more than a third say "qualifying prospects better" is their most important new marketing initiative for growing business this year.
That's according to a new national survey conducted by eWayDirect that polled nearly 350 B2C marketers to determine their customer acquisition needs and priorities for 2013 and beyond.
The survey also found that real-time targeting of prospects and customers is a primary tactic: almost two-thirds of respondents said they use real-time targeting to add new customers and fuel revenue growth.
For many marketers, social media has emerged as a primary channel for profitable customer acquisition, competing with search engine, email, affiliate and online marketing when it comes to attracting new customers who buy.
Email ranked a close second behind social media, yet despite the explosion in consumer mobile connectivity, marketers don't seem to make the connection between email and the mobile space. Almost 21 percent said that mobile advertising is a priority for 2013, but, ironically, nearly half of respondents said they don't optimize emails for mobile delivery and viewing.
