CHAPEL HILL, N.C., July 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Institute for Defense and Business (IDB) through its Center for Stabilization and Economic Reconstruction (CSER), continued its support of deploying units of the United States military when it recently conducted a governance and economics conference for the 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters as it prepares for a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan. The conference, held in Fayetteville, NC from July 11-13, was chaired by Ambassador (ret.) David C. Litt, Executive Director of CSER.
At the conference Colonel (P) Jeffrey A. Sinclair, Deputy Commanding General (Support), 82nd Airborne Division talked about their upcoming deployment saying: "All of us are involved in the governance and economic efforts in Afghanistan. More than 800 paratroopers from Fort Bragg will deploy overseas this fall as the 82nd Airborne Division will be taking command of operations in southern Afghanistan. Paratroopers will replace soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters in Regional Command South. Specific topics included U.S. policy, rule of law, international efforts, reconciliation and the transfer of authority.
