888poker VIP, Patrick de Koster, Wins the WPT National Series in Marbella

The Dutch poker professional and longstanding 888poker VIP, Patrick de Koster , has taken the title of champion at the World Poker Tour Marbella €1500 + €150 Main Event. De Koster started his journey to this event via a WPT Marbella Qualifier tournament on 888poker.com.

The inaugural Marbella Main Event brought in the largest field that has yet to be seen in the WPT National Series with a record breaking 377 players. After a great performance, Patrick found himself on the final table surrounded by a challenging field that included four Spanish players all trying to keep the win on home turf. Eventually it became a heads-up match between de Koster and UK poker pro, Peter Linton . In mere minutes the heads up match came to an end when Linton's K10 could not hold up against Patrick's AK.

This win garnered the largest live cash in de Koster's career at €150,000. Prior to this his $44,000 WSOP Main Event win in 2010 held the title.
