9th Annual Pinot Paradise Celebrates the Legendary Pinot Noirs of the Santa Cruz Mountains
Expanded Event Features Exciting Program Additions
SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association announces the 9th Annual Pinot Paradise festival on March 22, 23 and 24, 2013. This year, the event has been expanded over three days to include two winemaker dinners; a Tastemakers Gathering, in addition to the Technical Session (this year on minerality), which is followed by a new VIP reception; the Pinot Pathway self-guided tour on Saturday, and the very popular Grand Cruz Wine and Food tasting on Sunday.
On Friday, March 22, come and learn about Minerality in the Santa Cruz Mountains from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Taste and Terroir Technical Session at The Mountain Winery, Saratoga, CA. This session is open to consumers, winemakers, winegrowers, trade and media and anyone interested to take a closer look at the wines from the region. Featured guest speaker, Legendary, Josh Jensen, Founder and Proprietor of Calera Wine Company. Following the technical session guests may participate in "Meet the Winemaker" VIP reception from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tickets for both events are $65 online.
That evening The Mountain Winery and the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association (SCMWA) host an Ultimate Pinot Noir Winemaker Dinner from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. featuring six winemakers. Savor food pairing demos by Executive Chef David Sidoti with winemakers Bradley Brown, Big Basin Vineyards, Craig Handley, Pleasant Valley Vineyards, Philip Nelson, Silvertip Vineyards, and Ryan Beauregard, Beauregard Vineyards to name a few. Guests may choose a favorite Santa Cruz Mountains winemaker when purchasing tickets online. Tickets for the dinner are $125.00, and seating is limited.
On Saturday, March 23, participants can visit over 30 wineries along the Pinot Pathway. Sip, sample and be in-joy by meandering your way on a self-guided tour visiting the many Pinot Noir producers of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Taste through barrel samples, enjoy the experience of meeting our winemakers and participate in personal tours of the vineyards. Many wineries will be offering special experiences, including, Beauregard Vineyards, Big Basin Vineyards, Black Ridge Vineyards, Dancing Creek Winery, Hallcrest Vineyards, Regale Winery, Silvertip Vineyards and The Mountain Winery, among others. Tickets can be purchased online or at any participating winery. Please check website for updated winery participation. Pinot Pathway tickets are $25.00.
On Saturday evening, March 23, Pinot Paradise will host a second Ultimate Pinot Noir Winemaker Dinner at Shadowbrook Restaurant in beautiful Capitola-by-the Sea. Enjoy meeting the winemakers from: Burrell School Vineyards, Dancing Creek Winery, Hallcrest Vineyards, Silver Mountain Vineyards, Silvertip Vineyards and others. Enjoy a culinary experience prepared by Executive Chef, Ashley Hosmer. Seating is limited. Tickets are $125.00.
On Sunday March 24, Pinot Paradise presents its Grand Cruz Food and Pinot Noir Tasting at the Villa Ragusa in Old Town Campbell. Doors open from 12 to 2 p.m. for VIP, Trade and Media and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. for the general public. Taste Pinot Noirs from over 30 winemakers of the Santa Cruz Mountains paired with delectable food provided by local gourmet restaurants. VIP tickets are $100.00 online and general admission is $75.00.
