A Little Bit of Texas in China - Stubb's Texas Bar-B-Q Now Open in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AmRest HK Limited, a HK Company, recently celebrated the grand opening of Stubb's Texas Bar-B-Q in Shanghai. Located at 550 Jian Guo West Road at Wulumuqi Road, the restaurant provides Shanghai's 23 million residents with a unique, new, casual dining option that has previously only been available at the original, iconic Stubb's in Austin, Texas. With its savory, slow-cooked meats, original recipe sauces imported from the U.S., and unique Texas atmosphere, Stubb's Texas Bar-B-Q adds an entirely new casual dining option in Shanghai. Information on the restaurant and menu is located at www.stubbschina.com.
"For Chinese consumers, Texas represents wide open spaces, independence, strength, music and fun. Combined with the premium flavors of Stubb's sauces and marinades, this distinctive brand will enable Stubb's Texas Bar-B-Q to become a top casual dining destination in one of the world's fastest growing cities," said Greg Walther, president of Stubb's Asia Limited. "Rocky and Reggie Stubblefield, grandsons of founder 'Stubb' Stubblefield, came over for two months to fine tune our barbecue pit and train our pit bosses. As a result, our grand opening was quite an event and showed how interested Chinese consumers are in unique brands, especially one offering something as compelling as Texas Bar-B-Q."
Stubb's Shanghai features a footprint of 5,500 square feet and can seat 200 guests. The stylized decor includes red brick and dark wood, creating a warm, rustic feel perfect for enjoying live music presented on the restaurant's intimate staging area. In addition to Texas Bar-B-Q, patrons can enjoy many different beer, wine and mixed drink selections. For the more adventurous, waitresses are available to serve shots right at the table from their "shot glass holsters."
Stubb's produces the number one selling premium barbecue sauce in the United States. The company's sauces, rubs, and marinades are available in more than 40,000 retail outlets throughout the country. The sauces originated from recipes perfected at the Austin, Texas Stubb's Bar-B-Q restaurant and live music venue.
