MADISON, Wis., March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to the overwhelming crisis facing working people in this country, the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) will hold a press conference in Madison on Thursday, March 31 at 10:30 am. APRI is issuing a call to its members in 150 cities and 30 states to connect Martin Luther King Jr. commemorations around the country on April 4 to the workers' struggles in Wisconsin. The group purposely moved its meeting to Madison this week to endorse a series of events in all 50 states known as "We Are One".
APRI President Clayola Brown states, "April 4 has always been a significant date to an organization of African-American workers like ours, but this year it is extra special in light of the spirit of Dr. King that flowed through Wisconsin."
