A Promise Of More Care Options: Memory Care Center Plans Underway
Covenant Care announces the development of new facility to address unmet community need.
PENSACOLA, Fla., March 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Covenant Care is expanding services to provide additional care solutions for patients and families facing Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Slated to open fall 2016, the Covenant Memory Care Center will offer 11 state-of-the-art private rooms within a 7,000-square-foot secured wing. The facility will be housed on the Joyce Goldenberg Campus, which is also home to the Covenant Inpatient Hospice Center.
The Covenant Memory Care Center will allow residents to age in place, in a tranquil, home-like setting, with skilled staff, innovative programs and optimal living arrangements designed specifically to meet the unique needs of those impacted by dementia.
"Recent market analysis uncovered a significant need for assisted living-based memory care in our area," explained Jeff Mislevy, Covenant Care's President and CEO. "This new facility is a direct reflection of our commitment reinvest in the communities we serve by identifying and filling gaps in healthcare and community resources – whatever those might be."
The development of the memory care center will expand Covenant Care's existing Alzheimer's program, which currently provides caregiver counseling and support groups, as well as continuing education for healthcare professionals, advocacy and partnerships through a community resource referral assistance.
"When faced with the overwhelming implications of a disease like Alzheimer's, thousands of patients and caregivers have turned to Covenant and received compassionate expertise," said Mislevy. "Now, with direct care provisions through the Covenant Memory Care Center, we will do more for a greater number of people – and that, very simply, is the essence of Covenant Care's promise to our community."
