DETROIT, Sept. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Quad-point stitches tack down the authentic Detroit labeling on lifestyle brand BLANK iTTi BLANK. The collection by Motown native Leslie Ann Pilling is designed and constructed in the Rivertown area. Pilling's studio, a hub of haute couture details prepped for the next full-scale installation at Galerie Camille, 4130 Cass Avenue Suite C., Detroit, Michigan U.S.A., The opening reception runs 6-9 pm on September 14th extending through October 8th, the gallery hours, Wednesday through Saturday noon – 5 pm. The Water Poems exhibition highlights three Detroiters together in a union of art and fashion.
This trifecta collaboration was formed by Pilling with two other iconic Detroit fine artists, Jon Strand and S. Kay Young with the intent to interpret an original work from each artist then develop a pattern, produce textiles, design garments, then cut and sew Kimonos, caftans, ties, bow ties and more.
For forty years, noted pointillist painter Jon Strand a.k.a. Jonny Strange, spends thousands of hours "Dotting". His extensive bodies of work, which recently depict waves, are rich with color and movement. The Detroit Institute of Arts along with other dedicated worldwide patrons covet their Jon Strand acquisitions.
Life-long photographer S. Kay Young is known for capturing images of the nature, exposing hidden spirits of people and animals. Her stunning photographs are seen in the DIA and other local and national collections, with many new works to debut in the up-coming show.
With a design career spanning three decades, Pilling notes, "An individual's strength can be super-charged when valuing others talents." She's honored to work with both, building another layer to the Detroit creative scene.
The duration of the exhibit features multiple "happenings" including additional regional accomplished artists, the inaugural evening a performance piece by poet Morgan Breon, featuring water inspired narratives. All are open to the public.
