In her new position, Melanie Howard will be responsible for company-wide marketing communications strategy, media relations, internal and executive communications support, and digital and branding initiatives.

Howard comes to AAIS with more than 20 years of global strategic communications and marketing experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, she led a communications team in the government communications division at Great West/Empower Retirement where she developed business to business and business to consumer strategic campaigns, rebranding initiatives, and launched new digital platforms.
Previously Howard served as Vice President of Marketing for Charter Financial, as Vice President of Communications for JDRF/Denver, and as CEO of Howard Communications in Los Angeles and Denver. There she represented Fortune 500 companies (Whole Foods Markets, Inc., Rich Products Corporation, Origins Corporation), and provided marketing communications and public affairs services to government entities, private investment and technology firms, and nonprofit organizations.
Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and is enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with an emphasis in global marketing at the University of Illinois.
