MINNEAPOLIS, July 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ACA International Education Foundation proudly announces the 2015 recipients of Loomer-Mortenson Scholarships, which awards a total of $10,000 to four applicants each year.
First place winner Katie Jennings received a $5,000 scholarship to attend Western Michigan University, where she'll study bio-medical sciences.
Second place winner Kimberly Baich received a $3,000 scholarship; she plans to pursue a degree in Child Development studies at Southeast Missouri State University.
Kaylyn McElhenney and Michaela Weidtman each received $1,000 scholarships as third place winners. McElhenney plans to study psychology at Lipscomb University, and Weidtman plans to study history at Iona College.
Honoring the memories of Robert E. Loomer and Irvin "Dempsey" Mortenson, the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship is available annually to employees of the credit and collections industry and members of their family. This year's winners were selected from a pool of more than 70 applicants based on several criteria, including an essay outlining the value of consumer credit.
"ACA International Education Foundation is delighted to award the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship recipients, which reflects the importance of consumer credit in our economy in their essay. The quality of the applications we received has been outstanding, the foundation is proud to help support their academic pursuits," said Chairman Al Zezulinski.
