Accident Fund Holdings Earns Three Spots on the 2013 "Best Places to Work in Insurance" List Accident Fund, United Heartland and CompWest Recognized on this Year's List
LANSING, Mich., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. is proud to announce that three of its operating companies – Accident Fund (which includes Accident Fund Holdings, Accident Fund Insurance Company of America and Third Coast Underwriters), headquartered in Lansing, Mich.; United Heartland, headquartered in New Berlin, Wisc.; and CompWest Insurance Company, headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif. – have each been selected as Best Places to Work in Insurance for 2013 by Business Insurance.
Business Insurance launched the Best Places to Work in Insurance program in 2009 to identify and recognize high-quality workplaces in the commercial insurance industry and honor them for creating workplaces that do a superior job of encouraging employees to thrive in a workplace they can love. The program, and subsequent recognition by Business Insurance and Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence research firm, is very prestigious within the insurance industry.
In order to make the Best Places to Work in Insurance list, each company must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds a minimum standard of excellence in a variety of employment-related metrics, measured against other employers in the insurance industry, as well as other companies nationwide. This information is drawn from a two-part survey conducted of all participating companies. One portion of the survey evaluates employees' workplace experience and company culture, and the other gathers information on the employer's benefits, policies, practices and other information.
"It is a huge honor to receive this recognition from Business Insurance for the fourth year in a row," Liz Haar, CEO of Accident Fund Holdings, Inc, said. "Accident Fund Holdings and its subsidiaries have an excellent reputation for having a positive workplace culture based upon open communication, a commitment to inclusion and innovation, and family-like camaraderie. The authentic camaraderie in our workplace helps to create an environment in which people want to work."
An alphabetical list of the Best Places to Work in Insurance was released in the Sept. 4, 2013 issue of Business Insurance and the final report and detailed rankings by company type and size will be unveiled and published in the Oct. 21, 2013 issue of Business Insurance.
