HOUSTON, Feb. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Houston-based Acclaim Energy (acclaimenergy.com) today announced promotions and expanded responsibilities on its executive management team. The announcement was made by John D. Elder III, chief executive officer.
Richard Zdunkewicz has been named executive vice president and oversees all aspects of operations and finance and will increase his time commitment to business development activities. Zdunkewicz joined Acclaim Energy in 2006 in a finance and operations role, managing all aspects of transaction pricing, price risk management, accounting controls, data management, human resources, finance and client services. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of Enron Energy Services where he led deal structuring for its bundled energy management solutions group and managed the retail product development effort. Prior to Enron, Zdunkewicz served in various roles with Pennzoil Company, including finance and marketing functions in both domestic and international operations. Zdunkewicz began his career as a commercial banker at First City National Bank and then with MBank. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in economics.
Ajit Karani has been promoted to vice president – information technology & business process improvement. Karani previously served as director of information technology, managing infrastructure design and software development. In his new expanded role, Karani will identify opportunities and implement programs to enhance processes, heighten best practices and maximize efficiencies. Prior to joining Acclaim Energy, he was associated with Advanced Flow Property Management and Appraisal and Collection Technologies in management, analytical, technical and project management roles, and with Protiviti as a consultant. Karani graduated with a master in professional accounting from The University of Texas and is PMP certified as a project management professional.
Alberto Rios, the company's vice president – risk management, is taking on additional responsibilities, including day-to-day management of transaction pricing functions. Before joining Acclaim Energy in 2011, Rios led the structure desk pricing and managed a team of analysts at RBS Sempra Commodities. He was also associated with Williams Energy and Banamex where he identified emerging opportunities, developed strategies, prepared financial models, valued economic incentives and structured new credit lines. A native of Mexico, Rios earned a bachelor of science in industrial engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a master of business administration in energy finance from The University of Texas.
