Acclaimed letterer Ken Barber to lead hands-on workshop
Event marks the debut of [fuse] SESSIONS, Element Three's groundbreaking creative series
INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Drawing together designers and artists from across the Midwest, internationally-known letterer Ken Barber will inspire attendees with a passion for script lettering, a distinct style of hand drawing, at local marketing firm Element Three on March 7, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
WHO: Ken Barber, a letterer, type designer and type director at House Industries, a design studio and type foundry in Yorklyn, Delaware. Recognized by the New York Type Directors Club, Barber teaches at the Maryland Institute College of Art, lectures internationally on lettering and typography and has permanent collections in Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.
WHAT: Barber will lead a full-day workshop including:
- Overview of the craft and history of script lettering
- Illustrate specific techniques
- Work with attendees to create their own lettering work from concept to completion
