Accountable Care Learning Collaborative and Leading Provider Organizations Respond to Calls for Value-Based Transformation of US Health Care

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative (ACLC) is pleased to release ten new Case Study Briefs (CSBs) in partnership with leading provider organizations – including Mayo Clinic, Ascension, and Montefiore Health System – each offering a concise, tactical account of a value-based solution successfully implemented. The recent announcement of major changes to Medicare's landmark accountable care organization (ACO) initiative – the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) – accelerating the path to downside risk, confirms federal officials' call for a more concerted transition to value. These changes intensify the need for guidance on how providers can rise to the challenge of alternative payment models – and fast.

Using the framework of the Competency Atlas, the CSBs provide concrete, real-world examples providers can follow to succeed under risk-based payment models and deliver high-value care.

Over time, the ACLC is building a robust public library of standardized CSBs with a myriad of competency-specific and comparable industry solutions across a variety of provider types, markets, and maturity levels.
