MIAMI, July 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS), a BARBRI Professional Association, and Fordham University School of Law are teaming up to offer financial crime prevention and compliance education and certification opportunities to compliance, legal and ethics professionals.
Part of Fordham's Executive Education Compliance series, the four-day Financial Crimes Compliance course is scheduled for Mon.-Fri., July 24-28, 2017 on the school's Lincoln Center campus in New York City. The robust offering provides the opportunity for professionals to advance their careers, expand their knowledge of the burgeoning financial crime prevention field and obtain the coveted Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) designation.
Leveraging the academic strengths of Fordham and the industry expertise of ACFCS, the course combines in-person instruction, as well as the opportunity to network with industry professionals, engage in meaningful dialogue on some of the most crucial topics in financial crimes compliance today, and receive a recognized credential in the space. Through the course, participants will understand best practices for managing the complex risk areas organizations face, and prepare to sit for the Certified Financial Crime Specialist exam, which will be administered at Fordham Law on the final day of the course.
The CFCS credential is the only certification to verify knowledge and skills across all areas of financial crime, and is relevant for professionals working within financial institutions, as well as government agencies and law enforcement.
"The financial crime prevention and compliance community is a growing and important force within the industries we serve," said ACFCS Executive Director Garry Clement, CAMS, CFE, CFCS. "We're very excited at the opportunity to partner with Fordham and offer professionals the education and resources to help them advance our profession and their own organizations."
"The demand for qualified financial crimes compliance professionals is increasing daily, it seems. And given our location in the financial center of the world and the financial services sector's role in helping to safeguard the financial system from abuse, Fordham Law School decided to deliver focused professional training on this topic," said Alice BrightSky, senior director of compliance programs, Fordham Law School. "The partnership with ACFCS is a natural one which we believe will give students and professionals a leg up in this ever-evolving field."
