Active Deployment Systems: ADS Stages Disaster Units for Active Hurricane Season
SPICEWOOD, Texas, May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Active Deployment Systems, Inc. (ADS) has begun to prepare for an active hurricane season by staging their Disaster Relief Equipment (DRE) in strategic locations, with an operational readiness that is measured in hours, not days.

In a NOAA press release dated May 17th, "NOAA's outlook predicts a less active season compared to recent years," said NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco, Ph.D. "But regardless of the outlook, it's vital for anyone living or vacationing in hurricane-prone locations to be prepared. We have a stark reminder this year with the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew." Andrew, the Category 5 hurricane that devastated South Florida on August 24, 1992, was the first storm in a late-starting season that produced only six named storms.
"As we approach the official 2012 Hurricane Season, we've already had 2 named storms. For the 20,000 residents that don't have power thanks to Beryl making landfall in the Southeastern US, we're quickly reminded just how devastating a small storm can be in densely populated areas," states Simon Elliott, President and CEO of Active Deployment Systems, Inc. He continues, "ADS employees have been working tirelessly and are in a heightened state of preparedness, ready to deploy our mobile services and start providing a small amount of comfort to those affected. Our services are an essential step in helping to make people whole after disaster strikes."
With the development of the Super Toilet Systems, Active Deployment Systems now have some of the largest mobile land-based restroom trailers in the world. Just one ADS 40-Restroom trailer replaces between 80 to120 portable toilets; in a crisis situation, such as after a natural disaster, one super toilet can be operational anywhere in the country usually within 12 hours of deployment. The super restroom toilet is completely self-contained and is ideal in situations where basic utilities have been damaged. The super restroom trailer takes up about 1/3 the space of the equivalent portable toilets and does a better job of controlling possible disease issues common in post-disaster situations.
