ADT Commercial Unveils New High-Tech Security Systems to Help Protect Tallahassee Regional Airport

BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ADT Commercial, the industry's leading security systems integrator in North America, and the City of Tallahassee, FL announced today the installation of high-tech security systems to help protect the Tallahassee Regional Airport.  The comprehensive set of solutions – including video surveillance, access control, and emergency notification systems – helps put the airport on the cutting-edge of technology, to deliver the highest level of security and service for travelers.

Tallahassee Regional Airport faced the task of modernizing its critical infrastructure to promote operational readiness and improve its security posture.  ADT Commercial was selected to integrate a wide range of security upgrades throughout the airport.

ADT took an integrated approach, replacing legacy systems and installing the latest solutions.  Surveillance cameras were upgraded, with coverage expanded throughout the airport to help enable better response during emergencies and investigations.  Intellex digital video recorders (DVRs) from American Dynamics were deployed and connected to a new Intransa storage system in a RAID configuration, recording all video and creating redundant back-up on site.  

To strengthen public communication with airport employees and first responders, ADT also installed its Select Link® emergency alert notification system.

A new Software House C-CURE 9000 access control system was integrated with the video surveillance system, to help improve situational awareness.  For sensitive security areas of the airport, L-1 Biometric card readers were installed for fingerprint scanning.  

"If the C-CURE 9000 access control system generates an alarm, camera images are automatically delivered to the Airport Security Specialist on duty," remarked Mr. Pollard.
