PEORIA, Ill. April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation honored 35 of its suppliers with the company's prestigious Premier Supplier Award. This is the sixth year that Eaton has recognized a select group of its global suppliers with this award.
Among the award winners was Advanced Technology Services, Inc. (ATS), receiving recognition from Eaton in the Indirect Materials and Services supplier category. ATS provides equipment maintenance calibration and manufacturing support services that help Eaton factories run better. ATS is responsible for the proactive maintenance and reactive repair of production equipment. Included in its maintenance services are procurement and management of the spare parts inventory. Additionally, it is responsible for gage calibration, tool and die services, and other manufacturing support services that enable productivity improvements at Eaton plants.
"We are proud to honor these suppliers for their outstanding service and commitment to excellence. The Premier Supplier Awards are reserved for Eaton's best suppliers," said Craig Reed, senior vice president -- Supply Chain Management. "We thank and congratulate each of our suppliers and look forward to working with them in the coming year."
The award winners fall within one of two supplier categories: Direct or Indirect Materials and Services. Direct Materials suppliers are those which provide goods used directly in the making of products (e.g. steel, bearings, seals, castings); Indirect Materials and Services suppliers provide goods or services to support plant production and maintenance or office services (e.g. cutting fluid, maintenance repair, office supplies, travel services). "It is truly an honor to be included among this esteemed list of premier suppliers," said Jeff Owens, president of ATS. "We strive to continually deliver superior service and improved productivity for our customers and it's extremely gratifying to be recognized for those efforts."
