AdvisorShares Active Bear ETF (HDGE) Lists Options on CBOE

BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AdvisorShares, a leading sponsor of ETF innovation and actively managed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), today announced that the AdvisorShares Active Bear ETF (NYSE: HDGE), the first all-short actively-managed ETF has met listing requirements of the Chicago Board Options Exchange® ("CBOE®") and that HDGE options are now listed for trading on the CBOE.

Among the requirements a security must satisfy before CBOE will list options for it is "distribution." There must be a certain number of outstanding shares, and the shares must be owned by a minimum number of people. Otherwise, ownership of the security is deemed "too highly concentrated."
