AEM Intros SMD Electronic Fuse Family for LED Lighting Overcurrent Protection
New AirMatrix® SMD Fuses Deliver AC Line Overcurrent Protection for LED Lighting Using the Industry's Smallest Fuse Body with 250VAC Rating
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AEM Components™ today introduced its new AirMatrix® 2410 family of surface mount electronic fuses that provide AC line overcurrent protection for LED lighting applications. AirMatrix is provided in an EIA 2410 compact package. LED light bulb assemblies have limited board space making the AirMatrix package size ideal for this and other space constrained applications. The AirMatrix 2410 package enables flexible board placement and is compatible with standard pick-and-place technology. This also reduces assembly cost and saves board space.
AEM's AirMatrix 2410 is the industry's smallest fuse body with 250VAC rating. AirMatrix has an operating temperature range of -55 degrees Celsius to 125 degrees Celsius. The series complies with multiple safety standards including UL, PSE, TUV and CQC.
The AirMatrix surface mount devices (SMD) are lead-free, halogen-free and RoHS complaint. AirMatrix electronic fuses are offered in a wide range of current ratings for various applications: 0.5A – 2A (250VAC/125VDC), 2.5A – 10A (125VAC/125VDC) and 12A – 20A (65VAC/65VDC). They are also suitable for other common AC and DC applications. They include LCD TVs; telecommunications and networking equipment; battery packs; server and storage systems; power adapters; backlight drivers; industrial and medical equipment; and more.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for AirMatrix fuses start at $0.26 for quantities of 2,000. The AirMatrix data sheet is available online. An application note is available here. Interested parties can also contact a local AEM distributor near their area.
