Aflac Lands on Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America List

COLUMBUS, Ga., Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the number one provider of supplemental insurance in the United States, announced today that the company has been named to the 2013 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) North America list. This is the third consecutive year that Aflac has earned this prestigious status.

In the 2013 survey, Aflac achieved particularly high marks among companies appearing on the North America list in core business areas such as Corporate Governance (96^th percentile), Supply Chain Management (80^th percentile) and Operational Eco-Efficiency (74^th percentile). Aflac is one of only four U.S. insurers to make the North America index.

The DJSI follow a best-in-class approach, including companies across all industries that outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics.
