AFSCME District Council 33 To Hold Rally for a Fair Contract Tomorrow at Love Park, 15th St. and JFK Blvd.
PHILADELPHIA, March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AFSCME District Council 33, the City Workers Union representing over 10,000 City workers, will be holding a Rally for a Fair Contract tomorrow, Thursday, March 8, 2012, starting at 8:30 am at Love Park, 15th Street and JFK Blvd.
The purpose of the rally will be to call attention to the fact that Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has refused to settle a contract with AFSCME District Council 33.
The rally will precede the Mayor's budget address to Philadelphia City Council.
Representatives and members of AFSCME District Council 47, the Philadelphia NAACP as well as other local unions affiliated with the Philadelphia AFL-CIO will also attend the rally.
