AFSCME District Councils 33 and 47 to Hold Rally for a Fair Contract at Sestak Fundraiser Featuring President Obama
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AFSCME District Councils 33 and 47, the City Workers Unions representing over 13,000 city workers, will be holding a Rally for a Fair Contract today, Monday, September 20, 2010, starting at 3:45 p.m. on the corner of 12th and Arch Streets, outside the Pennsylvania Convention Center, in Philadelphia.
The purpose of the rally will be to call attention to the fact that Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has not yet settled a contract with either AFSCME District Council.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to attend a fundraising event for Democratic United States Senate nominee Joe Sestak at the Convention Center.
