HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading global chemical manufacturer Afton Chemical has selected Intergraph's information management solution for facility owners, SmartPlant® Enterprise for Owner Operators, to underpin the electronic data management system (EDMS) on its new manufacturing plant on Jurong Island, Singapore, which was scheduled to begin production of next-generation additive solutions in January 2016.
As construction of the plant neared completion, Afton Chemical undertook an evaluation of a range of information management solutions to support the operations phase. The company decided on SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators because it will provide a modern and cost-effective foundation for the next generation of EDMS.
"Intergraph has a strong reputation for successfully implementing information management systems on various other process facilities throughout Southeast Asia, so we had no hesitation in choosing SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators for the Jurong Island plant," said Kang Buoy, plant manager.
"We are confident that the new EDMS will support safe and efficient operations and plant modifications by providing up-to-date information, faster access to required data and the ability to track plant asset changes."
Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, "Intergraph is proud that Afton Chemical has selected SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators for the operations phase of the Jurong Island plant, which is of strategic importance to Southeast Asia's growing chemical market."
