AG Kane Rejects Lottery Privatization Proposal
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave Fillman, Executive Director of AFSCME Council 13, issued the following statement in response to Attorney General Kathleen Kane 's rejection of Gov. Corbett's push to outsource management of the Pennsylvania Lottery:
"Attorney General Kane made the right call. We've maintained all along that this is an illegal contract and we're obviously pleased that the Attorney General's non-partisan legal staff has reached the same conclusion. It's time to move on and get to the business of making one of the nation's best lotteries even better. Our members are willing to start working today with the administration and the legislature so that we can generate more revenue for seniors across the state who rely on the life-saving programs that the lottery funds."
