Agility Health Enters Greater Boston Market Through Partnership With McGovern Physical Therapy Associates
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Agility Health, a leading provider of physical rehabilitation and software services that benefit patients, healthcare providers and employers, today announced the expansion of its multi-state outpatient clinic group through a new partnership with Boston-based McGovern Physical Therapy Associates. Financial terms were not disclosed.
With four North Shore locations, including the Boston suburbs of Revere, Malden, Beverly and Danvers, McGovern Physical Therapy Associates (McGovern) provides a key strategic addition to Agility Health's growing national network, which now includes 160 partnered or owned service sites in 14 states. Agility Health plans to help McGovern expand through the application of Agility's innovative clinical management technology and operational support, which includes administrative, marketing and recruitment capabilities, as well as financial resources to sustain growth.
"Strong cultural fit, local brand presence, growth potential and team experience are at the core of what we look for in all of our clinical partnerships," said Steven N. Davidson, Agility Health CEO. "Our newest relationship, with McGovern Physical Therapy Associates, is built on these essential attributes, and we are looking forward to sharing with Boston's North Shore community the exciting outcomes that follow when two service-focused partners combine to pursue new opportunities for patient care."
Founded in 2000 by Kevin J. McGovern, PT, DPT, McGovern Physical Therapy Associates offers patients a wide array of physical therapy and rehabilitative techniques designed to ease pain, improve mobility, maximize physical functionality and help prevent future injury. Its team of 35 professionals and staff has extensive experience in the full range of services typically offered by Agility Health's partnered and owned clinics, including manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise, gait and postural analysis, and balance training, as well as orthotics and bracing. Named "PT Practice of the Year" by leading industry publication Advance, McGovern's specific expertise spans spinal disease and injury, sports injuries, post-surgical care, chronic pain, neurological conditions, auto and work-related trauma, as well as other programs.
"As a strong proponent of the private practice model, and with the insight I've gained helping other owners improve their practices, I knew it was essential that a strategic partner for McGovern offer the right mix of resources, flexibility and patient focus to help take our team to next level," said Kevin McGovern. "We are confident that our new relationship with Agility Health will enable us to strengthen our practice in today's highly competitive marketplace, leveraging our hard-earned local identity and enhancing the ways we help patients make gains in their daily lives."
"We're very pleased that Kevin and his management team will continue their focus on building a winning practice in the North Shore communities McGovern serves," concluded Davidson. "Flexible ownership structures that help preserve clinic value and existing practice leadership involvement are a hallmark of Agility's distinctive partnership approach."
