Agility Health Extends National Outpatient Therapy Network Through Partnership With North Carolina Clinic Group
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Agility Health, a leading national provider of physical rehabilitation and software services, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership with Peak Performance Clinics, one of eastern North Carolina's largest outpatient clinic groups.
Agility Health also announced a key milestone in Peak's ongoing regional expansion – the Jan. 16 opening of its second clinic in the Jacksonville market and Peak's fifth location overall. The combination of Peak's Jacksonville clinics and other locations in the New Bern, Havelock and Greenville communities extends Agility Health's network to 44 partnered or owned service sites. Financial terms were not disclosed.
"As Agility Health continues to grow by partnering with great local practices, we're always looking for the right cultural fit and strong organic growth potential," said Agility Health CEO Steven N. Davidson. "Right out of the gate, Peak's latest expansion demonstrates the effectiveness of our partnering philosophy and the success of Peak's focus on quality patient care. We're delighted to welcome Dave Pearce, his seasoned team of practitioners and the powerful brand they are building in some of eastern North Carolina's largest and most dynamic local markets."
While Peak's extensive therapeutic offering reflects the scope of services offered in many of Agility Health's outpatient therapy clinics, it also reflects the unique attributes of Peak's local communities. For example, Peak's capabilities include a strong geriatric therapy component in areas such as New Bern, which are home to a sizeable population of retirees.
Another key Peak differentiator is its deep commitment to serving those who serve in the nation's military, including the Marine and Navy personnel stationed at Camp Lejeune and MCAS Cherry Point. More than 50 percent of Peak's business is dedicated to the needs of active duty personnel at these important bases – including those currently in training or returning from overseas deployment – as well as their families, veterans, and the large surrounding communities that provide their support.
"We have a long tradition of giving back to the military," said Peak Performance owner and director David Pearce. "Along the way, we've developed significant expertise in addressing a variety of service-related injuries, from those typically seen in the sports medicine setting to more serious conditions such as head and orthopedic trauma, and serving amputees. One of our most important capabilities is in highly traumatic hand injury, which we are able to address through the skills of our physical therapists and the specialty expertise of Peak's certified hand therapist."
In addition, all of Peak's clinics are staffed by therapists with extensive training and certification in treating an array of women's health issues, including various kinds of urinary incontinence as well as pregnancy-related pelvic issues. Peak's physical therapists thoroughly evaluate each patient and develop individualized treatment programs that incorporate a variety of approaches, including joint and soft tissue mobilization, exercise, education in home-based techniques, bracing and biofeedback, and modalities for reducing pain, inflammation and joint immobility.
A strong community focus is perhaps the most compelling attribute of Peak's regional practice. From providing needed renovation in the neighborhoods where it opens new clinics and participating in a variety of civic groups, to providing volunteer services and injury prevention training to high school athletic programs, Peak has become a positive presence in the communities it serves.
"Plugging into the community is much more than a marketing strategy," explained Pearce. "It goes to the desire of our therapists to bend over backwards for our clients – treating everyone with dignity and respect, working with them and their referral sources to find solutions for their physical conditions and, should the need arise, their care-related financial challenges.
"Partnering with a service-focused company like Agility Health, and gaining the opportunity to tap into their extensive administrative resources, positions Peak to achieve the next level in our growth. It also opens up exciting new opportunities for professional dialogue with the many practitioners across Agility Health's national network. We're looking forward to sharing from our experience, and gaining the perspective of other veterans of outpatient private practice."
Peak Performance expects to staff its new Jacksonville location, located at 2756 Richlands Hwy., through a combination of current Peak professionals and four to five new hires, bringing its total team to approximately 70 employees in the communities it serves.
