BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a leading developer and manufacturer of antioxidants for the polymers, fuel and lube industries, announced today that it completed installation of a granulation and blending system in Shanghai.
This addition supports the Company's global growth initiatives by adding additional capacity and product forms to the portfolio. This increases Albemarle's total one-pack capacity to over 10,000 metric tons/year, and adds the capability to make one-pack formulations of up to eight components. Albemarle's stand-alone one-pack shop in Shanghai, China now has the capability of producing non-dusting antioxidants in both granules and pellets. With the increased scale and back integration to neat antioxidant production, Albemarle can provide cost effective one-pack solutions on a global basis. The close proximity to the Shanghai seaport makes for effective worldwide product distribution.
