Alere to Provide Insights on their mHealth Strategies and the Future of Healthcare Connectivity at the 2013 mHealth Summit
WALTHAM, Mass., Dec. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Alere Inc., the world's leading provider of point-of-care rapid diagnostics and health information solutions, today announced that two Alere executives will give presentations at the 2013 mHealth Summit, taking place December 8-11 2013. The mHealth Summit is the largest mobile health industry event in the world, held at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in Washington, DC. The summit is a convergence of industry thought leaders, innovators, clinicians, and people who are passionate about changing the way health care is delivered.
Kent Dicks, CEO and Founder of Alere Connect (formerly MedApps), a developer of remote health monitoring solutions, will participate in the "Why Mobile Matters" session to demonstrate the benefits of mobile technology. Following the presentation, Mr. Dicks will take part in a panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by Travis Good, editor of HIStalkConnect.
Dicks will also speak at M2M Now "Money Talks- mHealth," which is co-located at the Summit. He will be the opening keynote for the session titled, "Consumer or Clinician- Who's driving the future of mHealth?" which will explore who is driving the demand for connected health, where revenue opportunities exist, and how clinicians can use mHealth to improve patient outcomes. The interactive session will include a panel debate, Q&A and audience polling.
Dicks will touch upon reducing readmissions and healthcare costs while increasing the quality of care, his mHealth business model, and why one mobile healthcare solution does not fit all. Dicks states: "The Alere Connected Health platform can be integrated at a variety of levels based on client needs. We can efficiently capture accurate data, provide robust analytics, and back it up with comprehensive health management services. I feel this is what distinguishes Alere as one of the few healthcare companies to offer a true, fully integrated solution."
Helen Figge, VP of Clinical Integration at Alere Accountable Care Solutions (ACS), will speak at the "Health 2.0" session also co-located at the mHealth Summit to showcase cutting-edge innovations in the healthcare industry. She will also conduct a live demo of the Alere Health Information Exchange (HIE) during the "Clinical and Population Data for Transforming Care" seminar. Alere ACS provides a standards-leading Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Meaningful Use certified Electronic Health Record (EHR), with numerous diagnostic and care management solutions.
Both companies are part of the Alere™ Connected Health group, and will be demonstrating their connected device products and solutions in booth #923 at the mHealth Summit.
