DALLAS, Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Friday, February 17, 2012 is the third anniversary of the death of 3-year old Ali Galvan. Ali died when she stepped onto the lid of a backyard septic tank in a well-to-do neighborhood in Argyle, Denton County, Texas. The lid collapsed under her feet like a trapdoor because it was not locked or secured as required and it did not fit the opening it was covering. Ali's body was found hours later after extensive efforts by the local community and area search and rescue crews. Because a number of children have died in a similar way over the last 20 years, Ali's Sleeping Angels Foundation was created by Ali's family for the purpose of educating the public about the dangers of residential septic systems. Ali's Sleeping Angels Foundation is sending this press release to remind owners of residential septic systems nationwide to use this occasion to check the lids to their septic tanks in order to assure that they are locked, buried, or otherwise secured in order to protect children from injury. A trial for the wrongful death of Ali Galvan begins Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the 393rd Judicial District Court of Denton County, Texas.
