SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Allan Joseph of Rogers Joseph O'Donnell of San Francisco has been appointed to serve as the Chair of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, for a one-year term beginning in August 2011.
The Standing Committee is comprised of the Chair and 14 circuit members, two in the 9th Circuit and one in each of the other federal circuits. At the request of the Administration, the Standing Committee conducts a confidential evaluation of each prospective nominee's professional qualifications for the federal district courts, the circuit courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. The Standing Committee has been providing these evaluations for nearly 60 years, since the Eisenhower presidency.
