Allscripts Enters Partnership at New Montefiore Hospitals Five-year extension and upgrade will help improve patient outcomes at Montefiore New Rochelle and Montefiore Mount Vernon
CHICAGO, Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) has entered into an agreement with the newly-established Montefiore New Rochelle and Montefiore Mount Vernon to expand the relationship at those locations, which were recently acquired by Montefiore Health System. This partnership will upgrade both hospitals to Allscripts Sunrise™ 6.1 Integrated Electronic Health Record as well as the Sunrise Clinical Analytics™, Sunrise Radiology™ and Sunrise Laboratory™. It also allows for the implementation of the Allscripts FollowMyHealth™ patient engagement solution.
"Allscripts Sunrise has played an important role in the care of patients at both of these hospitals and we look forward to the ongoing use of this electronic health record system," said Jack Wolf, Montefiore's Chief Information Officer. "We are also encouraged by the patient engagement solutions offered by Allscripts, which allow patients to better manage their own care by staying informed and connected."
Allscripts Sunrise 6.1, a robust and advanced electronic health record (EHR) information solution with significant functional enhancements, is designed to help clinicians meet Meaningful Use Stage 1 and 2 requirements and manage the complexity of ICD-10. Using data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Servicesi, Allscripts believes it has the second-most Meaningful Use attestations among healthcare information technology vendors from 2011-2013.
Allscripts FollowMyHealth patient engagement solution will be a key part of Allscripts expanded partnership with Montefiore. Combining a personal health record with an online patient portal and the exchange of critical patient data, FollowMyHealth empowers providers to engage their patients to take a more active role in managing their care.
"Allscripts has been committed to these hospitals for many years and we are pleased Montefiore decided to continue the agreement," said Paul M. Black, President and Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "Sunrise 6.1 is a fully integrated EHR solution, with a growing track record of successful implementations, and is designed to effectively manage regulatory requirements and evolving business needs. The powerful combination of our solutions will help ensure the continued delivery of exceptional patient care."
