Al's Angels Hosts 4th Annual 24 Hours of Hope Nationwide Fitness Fundraiser to Support Children and Families in Desperate Need
October 12th-13th event to help spread cheer to children stricken with cancer, rare blood diseases and severe financial distress
WESTPORT, Conn. and NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Al's Angels, a non-profit charitable organization founded by Westport, CT resident and CEO of Optimus Publishing Al DiGuido, announced today it will be hosting its fourth annual 24 Hours of Hope weekend .
Fitness events will be held around the country including the Edge Fitness Centers & Title Boxing in Norwalk CT, BK Athletics and Synergy Yoga in Fairfield CT, a Zumbathon event being held at Saint Aloysius Parish in New Canaan, CT and numerous local venues around the USA.
24 Hours of Hope IV is designed to raise awareness and funds for tens of thousands of children throughout the USA that are suffering from cancer, rare blood diseases and severe financial hardship. Throughout this nationwide two-day event, participants will be sponsored by family, friends and colleagues as they do their work out on a range of fitness equipment including stationary bicycles, treadmills, elliptical and rowing machines, and more. Zumbathon and yoga events will be hosted in both New Canaan and Fairfield, CT locations, while "Knock Out Cancer" boxing training events will be held at Title Boxing in Norwalk, CT, the newest member in Al's Angels' family of fitness partners.
24 Hours of Hope IV event is an incredibly important fundraiser for Al's Angels. In recent years, the event has generated over $75,000 to support the work of the organization. Al's Angels has set a goal of $100,000 for this year's event.
Interested athletes and participants are encouraged to register for the event in advance at www.24hoursofhope.com. The site will allow them to schedule their workout in one of our local venues and/or indicate that they will be working out in their fitness facility locally. The "Active" system will allow each participant to reach out to their past sponsors, friends, colleagues and family to recruit them to either join them in their workout or support them through a financial donation.
Event details are as follows:
- Yoga Synergy: 340 Post Road, Fairfield, CT (Saturday, October 5th from 1:30 - 3:30 PM)
- Edge Fitness Center (Norwalk) : 542 Westport Avenue, Norwalk, CT (Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th from 7 AM - 5 PM)
- Title Boxing: 200 Westport Avenue, Norwalk , CT (Saturday, October 12th at 10am, Noon and 2pm)
- BK Athletics: Sportsplex, Mill Plain Road, Fairfield, CT (Saturday, October 12th, 6:45am-1pm)
- Zumbathon at Saint Aloysius: 21 Cherry St New Canaan, (Sunday, October 13th,1pm-4pm)
Al's Angels is asking ALL participants to either pay a $60 registration fee and/or raise at least $60 per workout hour in sponsorships.
100% of all proceeds from this event will go directly to providing Al's Angels with the funds required to provide thousands of children and families with holiday meals and gifts this year! Al's Angels launched a successful nationwide effort to collect new toys for children in the NYC tri-state area who lost their toys during Hurricane Sandy, as well as a fundraising and toy drive effort for the people who were devastated by the tornadoes in Moore, OK.
