HOUSTON, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser Prostate Centers of America's (LPCA) Xavier Garcia-Rojas, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. will be speaking to the Us TOO Plano chapter on October 3, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss new technology for MRI image-guided biopsies and alternative focal laser treatments for prostate cancer. US TOO Plano is an affiliate of Us TOO international prostate cancer education and support network. Following on the heels of September's National Prostate Awareness Month, LPCA continues to strive and inform the public about this common men's cancer, and treatment options available due to new technologies. The Plano chapter meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital at 6200 W. Parker Road, Tower A, lower level, Conference Center, Oak Room in Plano, Texas. Anyone wanting to know more about prostate cancer and alternative treatments are encouraged to attend. Dr. Garcia-Rojas is partner and board-certified radiologist of the LPCA multi-specialty team that offers MRI-guided biopsies and focal therapies including focal laser ablation (FLA) for prostate cancer. He is an interventional radiologist, trained in minimally-invasive tumor biopsies and tumor ablation with advanced specialization in abdominal and pelvic MRI and is dedicated to cutting-edge treatments and the introduction of advanced technology to healthcare. He received his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, Ph.D. in radiological sciences from the University of Texas, and M.B.A. from Rice University. His diagnostic radiology residency was at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed dual fellowships in abdominal imaging and image-guided therapy at the National Center for Image Guided Therapy at Harvard Medical School and completed a Biodesign Innovation fellowship at the Texas Medical Center Innovation Institute.
